Easter Island, located in exotic Polynesia, far off the coast of Chile, offers the enchantment of warm beaches and agreeable climate, transparent seas and remarkable volcanic geology. Enjoy horseback riding this amazing Island in the Pacific Ocean and discover its deepest secrets. Easter island is the most isolated place in all the planet, at a distance of 3.000 km from the nearest populated point. The inhabitants carved 100 ton basalt statues (called moai) from a quarry in the side of a volcano. The statues were then transported many kilometers to the coast and erected on giant stone altars -How and why the inhabitants of the island achieved this may always remain a mystery, but riding across the island on horseback you will see the marvellous stautues and sense the mystery of the place

Itinerary of the Easter Island horse ride

Our riding trip takes you from Ovahe to Anakena (5 hrs riding). We cross the island riding and discovering and camp at Anakena beach. The following day we ride from Perousse-Poike to Tongariki. We continue horseback riding around Rapanui and setup camp at Rano Raraku. Next day the ride is from Rano Raraku to Vaihu (4 hrs riding). AM Optional trek to Rano Raraku volcano where Moais were cut from volcanic tuff. PM Horse back to Aka Hanga and the camp The last day's riding is from Rano Kau to Orongo and then Vinapu. Horseback ride to the ruined village of Orongo and finish at Hanga Roa Hotel ready to leave for Santiago on the sixth and final day.
